#LadyChips, a sexist Doritos product bashed on Twitter.

We are not going to go into how bad the idea of a lady’s only chip is, especially being a sexist and demeaning idea. Instead we are more looking at it on the technology side and how Twitter users are not having any of it.

It all started with PepsiCo chief executive Indra Nooyi (PepsiCo owns Doritos) telling the Freakonomics podcast that they are developing a chip for women.

As you watch a lot of the young guys eat the chips, they love their Doritos, and they lick their fingers with great glee, and when they reach the bottom of the bag, they pour the little broken pieces into their mouth because they don’t want to lose that taste of the flavour. . . .Women would love to do the same, but they don’t. They don’t like to crunch too loudly in public,” she said. The company’s future chip for women will be “low-crunch, the full taste profile, not have so much of the flavour stick on the fingers, and how can you put it in a purse? Because women love to carry a snack in their purse.

As you can guess the internet was not happy.

The real headline is how Doritos have only posted 2 things in response to this and one was a retweet.

Did anyone else notice the retweet says “for delicate folks”?

What do you think about all of this? We know the company should have done a lot more then just a single post and a retweet.
